Avoid Expensive Heating System Problems with a Furnace Check-Up!

Residential Furnace check up special by Extreme Comfort Air Conditioning & Heating in Dallas, Texas

Furnace Check-Up Special by certified HVAC technicians.

If you’ve been searching for furnace tune-up specials near me, you’re a proactive homeowner aiming to keep your heating system running smoothly year-round. Our annual furnace tune-up specials, carried out by licensed technicians, help extend the life of your HVAC system and ensure your home stays comfortable throughout the winter here in Dallas.

Manufacturers recommend regular maintenance furnace check-ups (furnace tune-ups) performed semi-annually to keep your equipment in top shape. This maintenance includes inspecting and cleaning all parts, checking for wear and tear, and replacing any necessary components. Scheduling these check-ups ahead of time can help prevent unexpected breakdowns or malfunctions.

Detect Furnace Problems Early

Most residential heating system problems can be identified early with a simple furnace check-up before minor issues escalate into costly repairs. Our 18-point furnace check-ups are conducted on currently functioning systems as part of your annual maintenance program.

If your residential furnace unit is not working properly, you need a service call, not a check-up. Click here to view our current service call specials.

Furnace Tune-Up Specials

Although some companies refer to this service as a furnace tune-up, nothing in the heating and cooling system is physically adjusted or “tuned up.” Instead, a technician performing a semi-annual “check-up” will inspect your furnace system and measure the capacities of the components, looking for signs of wear or potential leaks.

Did you know that your heating system can lose up to 5% efficiency each year if it misses a check-up?

Take advantage of our 18-point furnace check-up special for a limited time. One of our Extreme Comfort Air Conditioning and Heating technicians will measure the critical system components of your furnace, inspect accessible parts for wear or potential problems, and check heating levels for optimal performance. Additionally, your technician will assess the overall airflow and system operation while tightening, adjusting, lubricating, and calibrating components as needed.

Semi-Annual Maintenance Check-Ups are included FREE for Comfort Club Members.

18-Point Heating System Check-Up Includes:

A Furnace check-up, conducted on currently functioning units as part of your annual maintenance program, keeps your heating system in good working order. It includes:

1) THERMOSTAT – Check temperature display accuracy and tighten loose wires. Calibrate the thermostat if possible.

2) AIR FILTER – Clean or replace with a customer-provided filter. Check for debris that may cause airflow restriction.

3) BLOWER MOTOR – Check motor amperage and compare it to motor ratings. Oil motor if needed. Check to ensure proper motor speed.

4) RUN CAPACITOR – Check microfarads. Recommend replacement if not within 10%. Check for oil leaks or voltage drop. Replace if leaking or bad.

5) THERMOCOUPLE – Ensure the thermocouple is in its proper position. Look for signs of deterioration or crystals that may be starting to develop.

6) BURNERS – Check for a solid blue flame. If an orange or yellow flame appears, look for a cracked heat exchanger, dirty burners, or poor exhaust flow.

7) HEAT EXCHANGER – Examine the heat exchanger for cracks or signs of stress or
fatigue. Shut down the unit if you suspect that there may be a problem.

8) GAS LINES – Inspect all gas lines for possible leaks. Use soap and bubbles and check commonly known areas where leaks often occur.

9) SAFETY CONTROLS – Check door safety switch and sequence of safety operations. Also, check all other auxiliary safety devices.

10) INDOOR COIL – Check if possible to make sure there are no airflow restrictions. Check for leaks that may decrease system performance.

11) DRAFTING – Check to ensure proper flame. Check for rust or blockage. Check the operation of the draft motor.

12) LIMIT SWITCHES & FAN CONTROL – Check fan control for proper cut-in and cut-out. Disconnect the power to the blower and test the upper limit switch.

13) PILOT / IGNITION SYSTEM – Check for flame quality and roll out. Look for hard ignition or any signs of delayed ignition. Check warm-up time.

14) DUCTWORK – Check both the supply and return air ducts at the machine’s connections. Check for separated or collapsed air ducts.

15) HEAT STRIPS – Check sequencers, fan control, safety controls, limit switches, and element connections. Check amperages throughout.

16) CRANKCASE HEATER – Use an amp probe to ensure the crankcase heater is functioning. If it is not, oil may foam and reduce compressor viscosity.

17) DEFROST CONTROLS – To check its function, send the unit into defrost mode. Inform occupants of what they can expect during defrosting.

18) SPLIT TEMPERATURE – Take split temp to measure efficiency. Poor split temps indicate bad strips, dirty filters, or blocked coils.

When completed, the customer will receive a recommendation for any further maintenance or repair needs of your system.
